About Us
Our Objectives and Purposes
- To increase community awareness and use of the library
- To encourage gifts and endowments for the Brunswick-Glynn County Library and to provide financial assistance for the purchase of needed items that cannot be purchased from the library budget
- To assist the library's operation through our volunteer program
- To sponsor programs which add to the cultural life of the community
What We Do
- Operate the Friends of the Library Bookstore selling "gently used" books, CDs, videos and DVDs - Hours: Monday through Friday, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm - Saturdays 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Brunswick-Glynn County Library
- Host the annual Tables of Content benefit dinner to raise funds for library books, materials, and equipment
- Organize Used Book Fairs as a fundraiser for library needs
- Underwrite summer reading programs for children
- Sponsor cultural and book-related programs for adults
- Circulate a newsletter to members
- Bring the national Reading is Fundamental (R.I.F.) program to Glynn County public school children
- Subsidize the cost of specialized Internet databases
